Measuring Social Impact

In a previous post, I talked about what we're really trying to do in the social enterprise field  (create thriving communities).   A vital part of this effort is having a measurement system that allows us to communicate with funders, partners and policy makers in terms they understand (i.e. financial).  Social Return on Investment, or SROI for short, has been around for at least 10 years and is one way to "monetize" the value we provide to communities.   Before your eyes glaze over, SROI doesn't have to be complicated or inaccessible.  In fact, it can be very common sense.  For a great introduction, check out "Measuring Social Impact" at:
