Learning Outcomes

Participants will enhance their ability in seven key areas:

Describing what social enterprises are, the contributions they make to local economies and communities, and the challenges they face;

  1. Understanding and analyzing income statements and balance sheets;
  2. Creating and using a cash flow forecast spreadsheet;
  3. Calculating break-even sales;
  4. Monitoring and controlling operating costs;
  5. Monitoring and maximizing gross profits;
  6. Managing accounts receivable; and
  7. Securing appropriate financing.

PROGRAM FORMAT

Participants have four months to complete one of the two following training programs:

  1. Basic training with the Social Enterprise Institute (online)
  2. Deluxe training with Common Good Solutions (in-person)
